Guidelines for Guest Online Dating Articles

Hello, and thank you for your interest in writing for the Online Dating Paradox blog.

To help increase your chances of being published on this site, we recommend following the below guidelines before submitting your article:

Topic Selection

We are looking for guest articles that are related to the online dating niche, present new ideas, fresh perspectives and innovative concepts that are not presented elsewhere online. Submitted articles that are simply a re-hash of common Internet dating etiquette, re-written, or “spun” articles from other dating sites will be declined. The following are some good formats to follow:

  • Good online dating stories about your experience with Internet dating in general OR a specific dating success/horror story that resulted from meeting someone online.
  • Analytic articles which show interesting trends or demographics from the Internet dating world, preferably with data and/or graphs to back it up. An example of this would be posts on the OkTrends blog or the Example Male Dating Profiles post.
  • “How-To” articles which explain in detail how to do something on a particular dating site. A good example of this is the How to Delete Your Cupid Account post.
  • Case studies which break-down and discuss a particular online dating profile OR a particular email exchange between two people on a dating site.
  • Articles that offer new techniques, tactics or advice for improving one’s online dating experience that is unique and well explained.

Formatting, Markup and Post Attributes

  • Guest articles should be at least 400 words in length, though 500-750 is ideal, and of course longer is ok too as long as it isn’t rambling.
  • All posts should include a title, body text and byline; all with proper spelling and grammar.
  • The content text should be broken up into easily read paragraphs that are not too long.
  • Have a byline at the end of the post which has one to two sentences describing your credentials with a link to your blog or personal website.
  • If you include pictures, be sure to put a note(s) in the body text as to where pictures should be shown in the article. We will not publish any pictures that reveal anyone’s personal profile information so please keep that in mind when using pictures.

Also, please be aware that we may do some light editing to your post prior to publishing; such as tweaking the title, slight changes to the intro and correcting spelling and grammar. This is to ensure that the article fits well within the existing framework of the blog and to help increase it’s chance at success on various social media websites.

A Note on Linking

Since you are providing us with great online dating articles for our readers, we want to return the favor and make sure that your blog or site is recognized by sending you quality targeted traffic and tasty SEO link juice. Thus, we will provide you with one link in the body of your article text and one link in your byline at the end of the article, just be sure to include the HTML link markup in your text file.

However, we will NOT link to any sites that include: pornography, gambling, get rich quick schemes, Sales pages for dating products, or any sketchy generic dating site; nor will we include any affiliate links.

Preferred links should be to blogs relating to online dating, general dating, seduction, relationships or personal blogs.

Exclusivity

Articles submitted should not exist elsewhere on the Internet and should be intended for sole use by the Online Dating Paradox. This is important to ensure the success of the article and that any SEO benefits for this site or your links do not get diluted or penalized.

Submission

To submit your guest online dating article, first send me a quick message via the contact form to pitch your article(s) and then I will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss publication.

I look forward to collaborating with you.

Cheers :)
